5.6 magnitude earthquake in Van Eastern Turkey : 7 killed

5.6 magnitude earthquake hits Eastern Turkey and leave seven dead people, and 20 buildings collapsed, including a hotel in the city of Van. the city was only lightly damaged but some weak buildings collapsed. As of now the rescue team is still searching for some people trapped inside the buildings. they believe that there are still 50 more people trapped inside. Rescuers use high powered lights during night. most of the buildings collapsed are empty but three of it was occupied during the earthquake struck at 21:23 (19:23 GMT). There are also some journalists trapped inside the building still alive because they still be able to send text message to their colleagues asking for help. According to them this is the biggest aftershock in their area, frightened a lot of people. Turkey is vulnerable to earthquakes because it sits on major geological fault lines.
